Strategic Planning; Financial Planning
Chora partnered with the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens to complete a comprehensive strategic plan designed to position the institution for long-term relevance, operational strength, and financial sustainability. The planning process engaged the Board and senior leadership in clarifying priorities, aligning ambition with capacity, and defining a focused set of strategic directions for the museum’s next phase.
What distinguished this engagement was the speed and seriousness with which the organization moved from planning to action. Immediately following the completion of the strategic plan, the Board and leadership invested in the development of a companion financial plan—recognizing that strategic intent must be supported by clear financial pathways and disciplined resource management.
Chora’s work helped the Cummer translate vision into executable strategy, while the subsequent financial planning effort clarified assumptions, tested scenarios, and established a realistic path toward sustainability. Throughout the process, Chora worked with a leadership team that was thoughtful, decisive, and committed to change—demonstrating the governance maturity and organizational focus required to turn strategy into measurable progress.

“After completing our five-year strategic plan with Chora, we engaged the firm to develop a financial plan to support its implementation. The process clarified the Museum’s business model and key economic drivers, tested multiple scenarios for sustainability, and helped prepare the organization for the next phase of growth. The result was greater clarity and alignment for both the leadership team and the Board.”
