Strategic Planning

Located in one of the most competitive cultural and art destinations in the world, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) was a pioneer when it was founded more than 30 years ago—well ahead of the region’s rise as a global center for contemporary art. Today, MOCA operates in a far more crowded and competitive landscape, where brand visibility, philanthropic support, and audience attention are constantly contested.

Chora has worked closely with MOCA’s Board and senior leadership over several years, supporting the institution as it reflects on its legacy and defines its future. Chora is currently leading a new strategic planning process to articulate a compelling vision and a clear, actionable path forward—one designed to reenergize the museum and strengthen its position on the cultural map.

While the plan is still underway, the process reflects a shared commitment by the Board, leadership, and the City of North Miami—a proud and steadfast civic partner—to treat strategic planning as a continuous discipline. Strategy at MOCA is not revisited every five years, but reviewed, tested, and refined annually to ensure long-term relevance, resilience, and impact.
